Cases in Strategic Management (The Dryden Press Series in Management)
Published in Paperback by International Thomson Publishing (January, 1991)
Authors: Jeffrey S. Bracker, John R. Montanari, and Cyril P. Morgan
Average review score:

This is the one. The cat's meow
I am a business book afficionado, and this is one of the best books in the field. It is especially a good book on strategic planning for entrepreneurs. What we learned from the intro and case approach helped us raised our "business fluency". The insights learned from the cases caused us to adjust our business plan. It has also put us in a better position to raise capital.

Cat Balloon
Published in Paperback by International Specialized Book Services (July, 1999)
Author: Palo Morgan
Average review score:

Cat Balloon - Dances With an Irrepressible Joy
"Far,Far Away where the sea meets the sky In a Land of Dreams where no-one asks why 10,000 cats laze about under trees drinking moonbeam milk and sweet honey tea"

So begins one the most delighful Childrens stories available, the hero,Cat Balloon,is short, slightly over weight and looks nothing at all like the proud jungle cats that he shares his home with, and besides Cat Balloon wants to fulfill just one dream: To fly amongst the stars, and as even though

"cat ballon tried all the obvious things like flapping his arms as if they were wings"

His success is limited for as "everyone knows cats can't fly" until one day Cat Balloon sets sails to seek the secret that has eluded him

This is a delighful choice for children of all ages, with outstandingly beautiful richly coloured illustrations, the rhyming verse is well though out and our three year has no problem in being able to "guess" the lines following

Palo Morgan has produced a book that is both richly comic, beautifully illustrated and sits well upon any childrens shelf as a book to both treasure and read many times over

Chihuly Baskets
Published in Hardcover by Portland Pr (October, 1994)
Authors: Dale Chihuly, Linda Norden, Murray Morgan, and Diana Johnson
Average review score:

not just beautiful glass, beautiful photos...
This is the best book of Chihuly works that I have seen. (I will assume some familiarity with the work of Dale Chihuly). Not only are the photos taken of my favourite Chihuly glassworks (the baskets), but the photos themselves are incredible. The photographer responsible for this book is incredible. The photos give a real impression of what it is like to see Chihuly glass live (and for anyone who hasn't, it is truly stunning to see). The baskets seem to be flexible in these photos, and not frozen, lifeless glass.

The book includes a section of photos of actual baskets that inspired Chihuly. Although this section was less exciting for me, my fiancée found this part educational, it gave her an idea of what the artist had in mind when creating the glassworks. While the book is a bit expensive, when you see the size of these incredible photos, you will think it is worth it. My only complaint is that there could have been a few more photos.

Child of Promise (Morgan, Kathleen, Brides of Culdee Creek, Bk. 4.)
Published in Hardcover by Thorndike Pr (Largeprint) (July, 2003)
Author: Kathleen Morgan
Average review score:

"...To do the will of God and receive what He has promised."
FIRST: Although this book is 4th in a series, the story can be appreciated without first reading the other three. (However, the others are excellent also.)

INTRO: Each chapter of "Child of Promise" opens with a scripture, then weaves the story to illustrate the depth of the words that appear simple. In the first chapters, Beth has two great desires - to practice medicine and to become the wife of Noah Starr, the pastor of the local Episcopal church. When Noah marries another, Beth pursues a degree in medicine. Her time studying to be a doctor leaves her bitter, hardened and emotionally scarred. Upon her return home, circumstances put Noah, now widowed, and his disabled daughter in constant contact with Beth.

ANYONE WHO READS THIS BOOK IS IN FOR A SPECIAL BLESSING! While the story line appears to be the typical romance genre, the story is far from shallow, typical, or traditional. Kathleen Morgan, the author, goes past "happy ever after" to the reality of human nature and the relationship of each of us to God, as well as each other.

THEMES: This amazing historical novel addresses "hot topics" such as women in non-traditional careers, dual career families, domestic abuse, disabilities, etc. At the same time, it deals with ageless themes such as love, loss, and anger with God.

This book could be read as a study of church relations for everyone who is a member of the clergy, married to a member of the clergy, a leader in the church, a lay person, avoids church due to the hypocrites who attend or knows someone who goes to church. In other words, this is a must read for all.

Thanks again, Kathleen Morgan, for allowing yourself to be used by God for my benefit.

Child Support Guidelines: Interpretation and Application
Published in Hardcover by Aspen Publishers, Inc. (August, 1996)
Author: Laura W. Morgan
Average review score:

Essential addition to domestic attorney's library
Laura Morgan's treatise on child support is an essential addition to the library of every lawyer who handles domestic litigation involving child support issues. The comprehensive and exhaustive analysis of issues involved in applying child support guidelines is extremely helpful, no matter whether the attorney is dealing with an issue that has been litigated numerous times in that attorney's jurisdiction or has never been addressed. With the growing importance of child support guidelines in the modern domestic practice, the complexity of the issues involved, and the serious financial impact that a client may suffer by improper application of the guidelines, this book fills a void.

The Children's Daily Devotional Bible: Contemporary English Version
Published in Hardcover by Thomas Nelson (October, 1996)
Authors: Robert J. Morgan and Natalie Carabetta
Average review score:

Fun and Inspirational
The Children's Daily Devotional Bible is great! The stories are easy to read and understand, with wonderful illustrations. The memory verse is broken into 5 segments to make it easier for the child to retain. This devotional book is geared to involve the parent with the child - making the experience richer. I would recommend it to every parent. I purchased one for my grandson, who is not yet 2, and plan to read it to him until he is able to read it for himself.

A Christmas Carol: The Original Manuscript
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (November, 1971)
Authors: Charles Dickens, John Leech, and Pierpont Morgan Library
Average review score:

This book is just fabulous!
This is one of the best stories ever written. Ebenezer Scrooge, is the biggest grouch on the world, almost murdering carolers that come to his door for the fact he just can't stand to be Merry, even at Christmas time. The 3 Ghosts (Ghost of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, Christmases to Come) take him to it's own time space, and show him how the Christmas was, and the funeral of Scrooge, only to find that he was unliked and hated, so that no one came to the funeral. This is a truly inspiring story, so I greatly encourage you to get this!
